Texas Tech’s Kevin Bazzell garners award, Hudson White reportedly transfers to Arkansas

Texas Tech's Kevin Bazzell was named a first-team freshman All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) on Monday.

Bazzell, who primarily played third base this season, became the seventh Red Raider to earn NCBWA freshman All-America honors. In his redshirt freshman campaign, Bazzell started in 63 of 64 games, compiling a .348 battling average, 24 doubles, 10 home runs and 62 runs batted in.

This is Bazzell's second national honor after being named to the College Baseball News' freshman all-American team last week.

In other Texas Tech baseball news, former all-American Hudson White has committed to Arkansas, per an online report from Joe Doyle of Future Stars Series.

White, who reportedly entered the transfer portal on Friday, was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Year in 2022. He hit .296 with 10 doubles and 11 home runs to go with 49 RBI and 39 runs scored en route to honorable mention All-Big 12 honors.

Dillon Carter and Brendan Girton have also reportedly entered their names into the portal.
