Texas Tech football's Tahj Brooks among top players in EA Sports College Football 25 game

Texas Tech running back Tahj Brooks (28) topped 100 yards rushing in eight of the Red Raiders' last 10 games last season. He's seventh on the Tech career rushing list with 3,052 yards.

EA Sports College Football 25 is set to release next week and Texas Tech football fans will have the chance to run through defenses with their team's running back.

Tahj Brooks is among the top-rated players in the video game. EA Sports released a list of the top 100 players in the game with Brooks coming in at 36th overall as the lone Texas Tech player on the list.

Brooks is rated a 92 overall, the sixth-best halfback in the game. Oklahoma State's Ollie Gordon, Ohio State's Quinshon Judkins, North Carolina's Omarion Hampton, Ohio State's Treveyon Henderson and California's Jaydn Ott are each rated higher than Brooks, who finished fourth in the nation in rushing yards last season.

For intangibles, Brooks is a 94 for awareness, 91 for acceleration, 88 for speed, 84 for strength and 79 for jumping. Among the halfbacks released in the top 100 ratings, Brooks is first in strength.

In the Big 12 Conference, Brooks is sixth in total rating among individual players behind Gordon, Colorado's Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders and Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan and Tacario Davis.

Arizona and Kansas each have three players in the top 100; Oklahoma State, Colorado and Cincinnati two apiece; and UCF, West Virginia and Texas Tech one each.

The game will be released on July 19 and can be preordered at EA.com or on the XBOX and PlayStation marketplaces. Those who preorder the deluxe edition of the game or the MVP bundle, which includes Madden 25, will be able to download it on Tuesday (July 16).
