Texas Tech football announces sellout for game against Colorado, Deion Sanders

The second sellout of a Texas Tech football home game this season has officially been announced, and it's the least surprising game possible.

The Deion Sanders-led Colorado football team will visit Texas Tech on Nov. 9 and the Red Raiders announced Thursday that the game has sold out of tickets in advance. Tech opened its season by beating Abilene Christian in front of a sellout crowd of 60, 229 fans in Jones AT&T Stadium last week.

Tech previously announced that season tickets have sold out. Single-game tickets for the other five home games are still available.

Coaching change for Texas Tech baseball

Texas Tech baseball head coach Tim Tadlock announced Wednesday that assistant coach Joe Hughes has resigned from his position with the Red Raiders.

According to the press release, Hughes "intends to step away from college baseball moving forward." His replacement will be announced at a later date.

Hughes has been a member of Tadlock's staff since 2012, serving as director of operations before being promoted to assistant coach prior to the 2024 season.

"Joe has played a critical role in the success of our program here at Texas Tech and will be greatly missed," Tadlock said in the release.

Texas Tech soccer's Peyton Parsons honored by Big 12

Junior forward/midfielder Peyton Parsons of the Texas Tech soccer team was named the Big 12 offensive player of the week, the conference announced Wednesday.

Parsons was also named to the TopDraw Soccer Team of the Week after scoring five games in a pair of home wins for the Red Raiders. This includes her first-career hat trick on Thursday against Weber State. She added another two goals in the win over Oral Roberts on Sunday.

Parson leads the Red Raiders with seven goals on the season. She had one goal for her career prior to this season.
