Texas Tech basketball earns commitment from 4-star guard Christian Anderson

The Texas Tech basketball team got another commitment from the high school recruiting scene with the pledge of Christian Anderson, who announced his intentions via 247Sports on Monday.

Anderson is listed as a 5-foot-11 guard who finished his high school career at powerhouse Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia. He is rated as a four-star prospect and the No. 101 overall recruit by 247Sports.

The guard originally committed to and signed his letter of intent with Michigan before reopening his recruitment in March after the firing of head coach Juwan Howard. Anderson was also a McDonald's all-American nominee.

Texas Tech was one of eight options Anderson listed among his finalists, which included other college destinations of Florida, Stanford, Tulane and Fresno State. He also considered multiple professional options.

Originally from Atlanta, Anderson is the third commitment out of the high school circuit in this recruiting period, joining fellow guard Jazz Henderson (a preferred walk-on) out of Faith Family Academy and 6-foot-6 wing Leon Horner III out of Frisco and Dynamic Prep.

This marks the sixth addition to the Red Raiders this offseason. Tech has also signed three players out of the transfer portal in guards Elijah Hawkins and Kevin Overton and center Federiko Federiko.

The Red Raiders are currently at 10 projected scholarship players for the 2024-25 season with three spots available for other players.
