Texas softball routs Texas Tech again to secure undisputed Big 12 regular-season title
Texas clinched the undisputed Big 12 softball regular-season title after completing a sweep of Texas Tech with a 14-4 win in Lubbock Sunday. The series win secured the first Big 12 regular-season championship for the Longhorns since 2010 and their fifth overall regular-season conference title.
Top-ranked Texas (45-6, 23-4 Big 12) will enter this week's Big 12 Tournament in Oklahoma City as the top-seeded squad. A full tournament schedule will be released later Sunday by the Big 12.

Shortstop Vivi Martinez went 2-for-3 with four RBIs and two runs to pace Texas, which ended the regular season by beating Texas Tech with a cumulative score of 50-7 in the three-game series. Catcher Reese Atwood, who has set school records for both RBIs and home runs in a single season over the past week, added three hits, three RBIs and two more home runs to up her single-season record to 21.
Freshman Teagan Kavan worked all five innings to earn the win in the five-inning game shortened by the run rule.
