The Texas men's path in the upcoming NCAA Tournament will head through Charlotte, North Carolina as the Longhorns were selected as a No. 7 seed in the Midwest Region on Selection Sunday.

Their first-round matchup will be Thursday against either Virginia or Colorado State, who will face off in a play-in game. If Texas wins, they'll face off against either No. 2 seed Tennessee, led by former Longhorns coach Rick Barnes, or 15th-seed Saint Peter's.

The Longhorns fell to Kansas State in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament 78-74 despite the late-game heroics of Max Abmas. To repeat the Elite Eight run Texas made a year ago, this season's version of the team will have to run through a gantlet of difficult opponents. Even so, it is March, and they have Abmas and Dylan Disu. Who knows what can happen?
