Rodney Terry isn't done rebuilding his roster quite yet.

The Texas men's basketball coach landed another 2024 recruit on Monday when Oak Hill Academy (Va.) power forward/center Jamie Vinson committed to the Longhorns despite offers from Kentucky and South Carolina. The three-star prospect is from Austin and played his freshman and sophomore years at St. Michael's before finishing his high school career at Oak Hill. He initially committed to Vanderbilt.

Vinson (6-foot-10, 210 pounds) is the No. 86 prospect nationally and No. 11 in the state. He brings depth to a front court that had been looking a bit thin after the departure of Dylan Disu. Fifth-year senior Kadin Shedrick is the incumbent starter, while Ze'Rik Onyema remains an option for the roster.

Texas has been active in the transfer portal, landing guards Jordan Pope from Oregon State and Julian Larry from Indiana State as well as wings Tramon Mark from ArkansasJayson Kent from Indiana State and Malik Presley from Vanderbilt.

The Longhorns were pursuing 6-foot-9 big JT Toppin before he committed to Texas Tech. With the signing of Vinson, Texas still has one more scholarship spot it can use to bolster the roster.
