Amid Texas A&M's week 3 road SEC matchup vs. Florida on Saturday afternoon, redshirt quarterback Conner Weigman, who has been the Aggies' starter since the beginning of the season, did not make the start against the Gators.

Since Wednesday, the first official SEC injury report for both teams revealed that Weigman had suffered some injury, resulting in a questionable play status going into Friday night. On Saturday morning, ESPN insider Pete Thamel stated that Weigman was now a game-time decision, matching the team's final injury update just an hour before kickoff.

Just minutes before the game, Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko stated that redshirt freshman QB Marcel Reed would make his first start of the season, as Weigman's reported shoulder injury was too painful to work through.

While Reed's impressive play led the Aggies to two scoring drives and a 10-0 lead before a lightning delay paused the game after the first quarter, ABC revealed that Weigman had suffered an AC joint injury during the opening season loss to Notre Dame.

Furthermore, he received an injection to play through the pain potentially but opted to sit out to prevent further injury.
