Texas ex T'Vondre Sweat is excited to see Longhorns in 2024: 'Quinn is GOATed'
Are Texas fans excited for Quinn Ewers' third season as a Longhorn?
They should be, as his former teammate T'Vondre Sweat made it clear at the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis that the quarterback is more than prepared for 2024.
"I know he's killin' it even more now because the confidence is there," Sweat said. "Y'all see. Quinn is GOATed ... in the most humblest way possible, Quinn is GOATed. So I can't wait to watch him play. I can't wait to watch all those guys play."
College football's top interior lineman in 2023, Sweat's career season on a stout Texas defense led to his NFL draft stock rising to the point where he's projected to go in the top two rounds. One thing that could have affected his draft position negatively at the combine, though, was his weight.
He didn't weigh in at the Senior Bowl, prompting some questions about whether the defensive tackle was above his preferred size. At the combine, however, he weighed in at 366 pounds, one pound over what he weighed during his college days.
For the record, the Texas ex was never worried about the scale, despite reportedly being asked about it in interviews often. What might actually draw some eyes, he says, is the way he moves despite weighing about as much as a Panda.
"I'm just a big guy. A lot of people get scared of the numbers and all that, but when y'all see me move tomorrow, I think a lot of people are going to be surprised."
