Former Texas Longhorns star Scottie Scheffler has won the Masters before, in 2022. It remains the only major tournament he's ever won, and he has a chance to win another starting Thursday.

However, there's a dilemma for the No. 1 golfer in the world. His wife, Meredith, is expecting to have their first child sometime at the end of April. If she goes into labor, Scheffler says that he will be there no matter what, even if that means withdrawing from the Masters.

He's not the only one who could leave prematurely, as his friend Sam Burns has also committed to leaving Augusta if his wife goes into labor.

The tournament only runs from Thursday to Sunday, so there is a good chance that Scheffler can complete the tournament before his child is born. Due dates aren't an exact science though, and if he has to make a choice, he'll be choosing to see his first baby over winning his second major.

"It’s been a pretty exciting last seven months or so and we’re looking forward to hopefully getting the baby out of there nice and healthy and with a healthy momma and then we’ll go from there," Scheffler said when asked about the pregnancy in March.
