Tennessee football vs Mississippi State: Vols win but Nico Iamaleava injured
Tennessee football finished 4-0 in its four-game homestand with a 33-14 victory against Mississippi State on Saturday night at Neyland Stadium.
It may have been a costly victory for the Vols (8-1, 5-1 SEC) against the Rebels (2-7, 0-5). Redshirt quarterback Nico Iamaleava suffered an injury and did not return to start the third quarter. Running back Dylan Sampson was also banged up.
And now the Vols take that winning streak to Georgia next week.
Tennessee is ranked No. 7 in the College Football Playoff poll, No. 6 in the US LBM Coaches Poll and No. 7 in the AP poll. The Vols are in contention for a spot in the 12-team playoff if they can keep winning.
