Tennessee Titans put 3 more defenders on season-ending IR, including Jeffery Simmons

Three more Tennessee Titans are done for the season.

The Titans (5-9) put defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons and linebackers Jack Gibbens and Luke Gifford on injured reserve Saturday ahead of the team's game against the Seattle Seahawks (7-7) at Nissan Stadium on Sunday (noon, CBS).

With just three games remaining in the regular season and the Titans eliminated from playoff contention, this means the three will not be eligible to return from IR, given the minimum number of games a player can miss before returning from IR is four.

Simmons was named a second-team All-Pro each of the past two years. He started 12 games this season and had 5.5 sacks, 10 tackles for loss and one forced fumble. Gibbens started in 13 of the 14 games he played; his 95 tackles are second-most on the team. Gifford served primarily as a special teams contributor in his first year with the Titans.

Defensive starters Kristian Fulton and Kyle Peko were put on IR on Dec. 13, and Amani Hooker joined them on Friday.

The Titans ruled out starting cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting and safety K'Von Wallace for Sunday's game against the Seahawks without putting them on injured reserve.

To counterbalance the moves, the Titans have signed linebacker JoJo Domann and offensive linemen John Ojukwu and Andrew Rupcich to the active roster.

They also elevated defensive backs Shyheim Carter and Tae Gowan from the practice squad, but both will revert to the practice squad after the game.
