Tennessee Titans CB Chidobe Awuzie will miss a couple weeks with calf injury
Tennessee Titans cornerback Chidobe Awuzie will miss time during training camp with a calf injury, Brian Callahan said Thursday.
Awuzie missed Thursday's practice with the injury, and Callahan confirmed the issue afterward.
"It'll be a couple weeks, probably," Callahan said. "He's out here, but he's not practicing."
The former Bengals defensive back was signed as a major addition to the secondary during the offseason along with L'Jarius Sneed, on a three-year deal worth a reported maximum of $36 million. With Awuzie, Sneed and nickel corner Roger McCreary, the Titans will hope the secondary turns into a strength in 2024 under first-year defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson.
The Titans open the regular season at the Chicago Bears on Sept. 8, more than six weeks away.
