Super Bowl LVIII: These former OU football players will take the field with Chiefs, 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers will face the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII on Feb. 11 in Las Vegas.
The Super Bowl is one of the biggest sporting events in the world, and OU has its fingerprints all over it. There are six former Sooners on the two active rosters, which is the most of any college football program.
Here's a look at the OU football alums who play for the two Super Bowl LVIII teams:

TE Blake Bell, Kansas City Chiefs
Year(s) at OU: 2010-14
NFL Draft: Fourth round (No. 117 overall) to San Francisco in 2015
NFL accolades: Two-time Super Bowl champion (2020 and 2023)
Known as "The Belldozer," Bell ran for 631 yards and 24 touchdowns during his four seasons with OU.
Bell got drafted by San Francisco in 2015, but he has since played for Minnesota, Jacksonville and Dallas. He signed with Kansas City in 2021, marking his second stint with the franchise, and he has caught five passes for 26 yards and one touchdown this season.

C Creed Humphrey, Kansas City Chiefs
Year(s) at OU: 2017-20
NFL Draft: Second round (No. 63 overall) to Kansas City in 2021
NFL accolades: Super Bowl champion (2023), All-Pro second team (2022) and two-time Pro Bowl (2022 and 2023)
After being named the Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year for the second straight season in 2020, Humphrey became an immediate starter with Kansas City.
The former Shawnee High standout never looked back. He has made the Pro Bowl in each of the last two seasons, and he has started in all 17 games this season.
OT Wanya Morris, Kansas City Chiefs
Year(s) at OU: 2021-22
NFL Draft: Third round (No. 92 overall) to Kansas City in 2023
Morris spent the first two years of his college career at Tennessee before he transferred to OU in 2021.
Morris earned an All-Big 12 second team selection from AP in 2022 before he declared for the NFL Draft, and he has carved out a role with Kansas City. The rookie has started in four games this season.
LS James Winchester, Kansas City Chiefs
Year(s) at OU: 2009-11
NFL Draft: Undrafted in 2013
NFL accolades: Two-time Super Bowl champion (2020 and 2023)
Winchester spent three seasons at OU before he signed with Philadelphia in 2013 as an undrafted free agent.
The former Washington High standout then signed with Kansas City in 2015. He's the second-longest tenured player for the Chiefs behind star tight end Travis Kelce.
OT Trent Williams, San Francisco 49ers
Year(s) at OU: 2006-09
NFL Draft: First round (No. 4 overall) to Washington in 2010
NFL accolades: 11-time Pro Bowl (2012-2018 and 2020-23), three-time All-Pro first team (2021-23) and All-Pro second team (2015)
After earning an All-Big 12 first team selection for the second straight season in 2009, Williams became the highest-drafted offensive lineman in OU history.
Williams spent the first nine seasons of his career with Washington before he got traded to San Francisco in 2020. He has made 15 starts this season, and he earned his 11th Pro Bowl selection.
TE Brayden Willis, San Francisco 49ers
Year(s) at OU: 2018-22
NFL Draft: Seventh round (No. 247 overall) to San Francisco in 2023
Willis recorded career highs of 39 receptions, 514 receiving yards and seven touchdowns with OU in 2022.
The strong showing helped Willis earn an All-Big 12 second team selection, and it boosted his stock enough to get drafted by San Francisco in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He has appeared in seven games this season.
