Texas A&M (6-1, 4-0 SEC) has reached 4-0 in the conference for just the second time since entering the SEC at the start of the 2012 season after defeating Mississippi State (1-6, 0-4 SEC) 34-24 on Saturday night. While the Aggies were highly efficient on 3rd down throughout the game, starting quarterback Conner Weigman struggled to find consistency through the air after throwing two costly interceptions.

Holding a 21-17 lead at the half after allowing Mississippi State freshman quarterback Michael Van Buren to pass his way down the field to score a late first-half touchdown, shredding the Aggie secondary, but going into the game, it was evident that the Bulldog's RPO (run, pass option) system would be an issue for a Texas A&M team coming off a bye week.

However, defensive coordinator Jay Bateman deserves credit for making clear adjustments and sending consistent pressure from every angle to disrupt Van Buren's timing. Overall, a win is a win, especially on the road in the SEC, and the Aggies will certainly take this victory before facing LSU at home next Saturday.

Analyzing the roster's performance, here are the Texas A&M players who performed well and those who were disappointed and need in improve before next week.

Stud: WR Jabre Barber

Senior wide receiver Jabre Barber was the bright spot in the passing game against the Bulldogs, leading the Aggies with 92 yards and a 15.3-yard reception average.

Amid Conner Weigman's struggles in the pocket, Barber seemed to be the most consistently open receiving option throughout the day. His snaps increased after it was revealed that freshman Terry Bussey dressed but did not take a snap for precautionary reasons.

Dud: CB Jaydon Hill

Jaydon Hill has become a liability in the Aggie secondary after it was announced that senior CB Tyreek Chappell would be lost for the season. On Saturday, Hill was buried multiple times in the slot, including an explosive play that led to the Bulldogs' touchdown before the half.

It's not like DC Jay Bateman is without options behind him, but Hill may benefit from being in a rotational rule, especially in blitz packages where he thrives.

Studs: LBs Scooby Williams, Taurean York

Linebacker Scooby Williams' struggles during his final season with Florida were put to rest on Saturday. The junior backer was sensational outside his coverage mistake, leading to a Mississippi State touchdown in the first half.

Williams' size and strength give him a clear advantage as a run-stopper, racking up six tackles and two tackles for loss, including a ferocious 4th down stop that ultimately led to the win. This is great news for the linebacker rotation moving forward.

York led the Aggies with 12 tackles, half a sack, and 1.5 tackles for loss, while he was only a liability in coverage on faster receivers. As a pass rusher and run stopper, York continues to improve every week.

Dud: QB Conner Weigman

Two weeks after one of his best career performances, starting quarterback Conner Weigman had his moments but mostly struggled to find his footing in one of the toughest road environments in the SEC.

Completing 15/25 for 217 yards, Weigman threw a beautiful touchdown to WR Noah Thomas in the first half but threw two interceptions, which could have been four or five if Mississippi State's corners had held onto the ball.

Weigman will likely take full accountability for his mistakes per usual, but the redshirt sophomore needs to reestablish his footwork and accuracy that we saw in the 41-10 win over Missouri.

Stud: RB Le'Veon Moss

Junior running back Le'Veon Moss wasn't his best, but came through when needed on Saturday, rushing four 65 yards and two touchdowns despite only averaging 3.8 yards per carry.

One of Moss's better plays was on his only reception for 11 yards late in the game on a key conversion to run the clock and give the Aggie defense time to keep the Bulldogs at bay. Even in one of his worst rushing games, Moss still reached the end zone twice, which is obviously impressive.

Stud: DL Rylan Kennedy

Sophomore DL Rylan Kennedy continues to shine. Head coach Mike Elko praised the pass rusher earlier in the week, noting that we would like to get him on the field at a much higher clip moving forward.

His specialty is getting pressure on the quarterback, and that success continued against the Bulldogs. He recorded two tackles, half a sack, and half a tackle for loss, while his length and speed continue to be issues for blockers to keep contained.
