Studs and duds from Saints' Week 11 victory over Cleveland Browns

.
.

The New Orleans Saints have made it to 4-7 after a 35-14 win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 11, which sets them up with good momentum heading into their bye week. There was alot of good late in this game, but also some bad early on, which can be cleared up with a week off to look at the team. Darren Rizzi will have the opportunity to sit down with his team after the sort of whirlwind promotion he had, and really further their identity. With that said, here are our studs and duds from Week 11:

Stud: FLEX Taysom Hill

Taysom Hill had a once in a lifetime type of game. This is no hyperbole. Hill put up a stat line that hadn't been seen in over 70 years. Hill made up for his two turnovers by scoring three touchdowns, as well. He made his biggest plays on the ground. Hill opened the day with a touchdown on the ground and closed it out with a 75-yard rushing touchdown.

Stud: OT Taliese Fuaga

The rookie left tackle was matched up with Myles Garrett and held his own. Of course he received some help, but the rookie performed admirably. This was the biggest challenge of his young career and Fuaga passed.

Stud: DT Bryan Bresee

Bresee was a force rushing the passer from the interior. The Saints had three sacks on the day and the second year defensive tackle had half of them. Bresee recorded 1.5 sacks and now has 5.5 sacks on the season. That tops his total from his rookie season.

Dud: LB Pete Werner

It was another one of those games for Pete Werner, where he didn't look bad but also didn't look up to his standards either. He had a couple of missed tackles throughout this game, ended with only 6 tackles on the day and no other stats, and frankly was not as impactful as he typically is. Not a huge concern with Demario Davis having a great game to cover things up in the linebacker unit, but something that will hopefully be worked out soon. Werner was playing through a serious hand injury but he wouldn't use that as an excuse, and neither should we.

Dud: Secondary communication

There was no one particular player who played poorly for the Saints in this game, however, their communication issues were one of the biggest issues in the game today. We saw Tyrann Mathieu get heated on the sideline after a botched cover-two play, and then a few other plays where Saints' defensive backs just got out of position and gave up huge plays. Something that needs to be talked about and cleared up in the bye week.

Dud: WR separation

The wide receiver separation in this game was very hit or miss for the Saints, as they had some great separation late, but early on aside from the Marquez Valdes-Scantling touchdown, the WR room was having a tough time getting open and the tight ends had to pick up the slack. Outside MVS, the Saints only had two wide receivers with a reception each, and MVS only had two himself, so four total. Something to consider in the week off, as they try to find more ways to scheme receivers open.
