Stephen A. Smith trolls Cowboys after they were blown out by the Packers in the playoffs
As the Green Bay Packers kept piling it on the Dallas Cowboys in their 48-32 playoff victory, many on social media and at AT&T Stadium might have been reacting with shock and surprise.
How could a No. 7 seed be crushing the No. 2 seed so badly?
How could a team that was a 7 ½-point underdog be playing like the favorite?
How could a team that had to win their final three games just to get into the playoffs throttle a team that hadn't lost at home all year?
Well, not everyone was stunned.
Stephen A. Smith, who takes great pleasure in watching the Cowboys lose every season, was gloating after Dallas was eliminated again early in the playoffs. He opened his video with a typical laugh that he's known for following Cowboys losses.
"I’ve been telling you all for 28 straight years and counting, just wait be patient, they won’t let you down," said Smith, the ESPN personality and longtime host of "First Take" in regards to the Cowboys losing in big moments. "But you wouldn’t listen, you wouldn’t listen."

Smith, whose smirk was as big as the Packers' lead for much of the game, said he could have gone "real, real deep" on the Cowboys' latest playoff failure. But he kept it at that before teasing his morning show. His night was made just as Packers' fans was after watching every Aaron Jones touchdown and Jordan Love's near perfect play in his first playoff game.
Meanwhile, Smith's former colleague at ESPN, Skip Bayless, who he used to go head-to-head with on "First Take," went on a social media tirade Sunday night. Bayless, who now works at Fox Sports and has his own debate show, is a vocal Cowboys supporter.
The Packers now advance to play the San Francisco 49ers in an NFC divisional round game on Saturday night, while the Cowboys go home early again. The Cowboys won three Super Bowls in a four-year span in the 1990s from 1992-95. But they haven't returned to the Super Bowl or the NFC championship since the 1995 season.
They are 5-13 in playoff games since then and the Packers have eliminated the Cowboys in three of Dallas' last five playoff appearances.
