Stephen Curry to miss five more games with strained left groin, will be re-evaluated in 10 days
Stephen Curry’s groin injury will keep him on the bench for at least five more games.
Earlier this week, coach Steve Kerr said that the team would be “extra cautious” with Curry’s new injury despite the MRI coming back clean with an “encouraging result.”
The Warriors will continue erring on the side of caution for Curry’s “mild to moderate strained left groin” by keeping him out and reevaluating him again in 10 days.
Monday’s statement included no timetable for his return.
Curry strained his groin in the third quarter in the team’s 134–111 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks in early November. He has missed the team’s three games since.

Although Curry is not playing, he will still travel with the team on their road swing through Texas to face the Rockets, Mavericks and Spurs.
Curry was not on the bench during the Draymond Green-Kevin Durant exchange that resulted in Green’s team suspension according to The Athletic’s Anthony Slater.
Playing status is still unknown, but Steph Curry is making the Texas trip with the Warriors. That’s not insignificant, even if he can’t play. His locker room presence is needed at this tenuous time. Curry wasn’t in Los Angeles when this went down.

Golden State will have home games against the Thunder and Trail Blazers before Curry is re-evaluated late next week. The earliest that Curry could be cleared to return would be the Warriors’ home game against the Sacramento Kings.
