Steelers vs Texans: Houston plans to play starters against Pittsburgh
The Houston Texans got a head start on the Pittsburgh Steelers by playing the Chicago Bears in the Hall of Fame Game last week. But this week the Steelers and Texans will square off in the official Week One of the preseason and things are looking good for the Steelers.
Why are we excited about this matchup? Because Houston head coach DeMeco Ryans said he plans to play his starters this week in what will be their second game.
When head coach Mike Tomlin addressed the media ahead of this week's game he talked about looking forward to the challenge and we have to agree that the Steelers backups getting reps against the Houston starters could provide valuable tape.

Pittsburgh has several position battles to sort out including quarterback so those snaps against Houston's starting defense are going to be huge for quarterback Justin Fields. Russell Wilson has already been ruled out for this week as he works his way back from a calf strain.
