Steelers vs Jets: 5 big storylines in Week 7
This week is a showdown between two future Hall of Fame quarterbacks as the Pittsburgh Steelers and Russell Wilson square off against Aron Rodgers and the New York Jets. The Steelers come into the game at 4-2 after beating the Las Vegas Raiders last week.
Meanwhile the Jets are floundering at 2-4 after losing three in a row and subsequently firing their head coach. Here are the storylines to watch this week.
The impact of Davante Adams
The Jets traded for Aaron Rodgers favorite target last week and we will be watching closely how quickly Rogers and Davante Adams are back on the same page.
The new Steelers offense
The only thing to measure with having Russell Wilson at quarterback is the productivity of the offense. If Wilson cannot move the ball and score points better than Fields did, this experiment might be for nothing.
What about Justin Fields?
Another big storyline will be how the Steelers incorporate Fields into the offense if at all. There are rumors he will see reps at quarterback but this could just be a smokescreen by the Steelers to force the Jets to plan for it.
Trump is in town
This might not have any outcome on the game but just based on social media reaction, the fanbase is worked up for the notion of former President Donald Trump being in attendance at tonight's game.
One more thing about the quarterbacks
Another storyline to track for the Steelers is what happens if Wilson struggles? How long of a leash is head coach Mike Tomlin going to give him with a proven starter on the bench?
