Steelers training camp: Rookie OT Troy Fautanu takes reps at guard
Training camp is all about experimenting to see what works, and rookies are often shifted out of position to see what works. This morning, rookie offensive tackle Troy Fautanu's turn came at right guard, where James Daniels typically lives.
In early portions of practice, Fautanu worked at right tackle while second-year lineman Broderick Jones split reps with veteran Dan Moore Jr. on the left side.
Jones and Moore Jr. are competing for the starting spot at left tackle. While it's still early in preseason practice, it's speculated that Fautanu will start Week 1 with Jones reverting to his natural left tackle position.
