Steelers outlast Commanders in thriller on the road
We knew this would be a great game and it delivered. The Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Commanders traded punches for 60 full minutes and in the end the Steelers used a massive fourth-down stop to beat the Commanders 28-27 and improve to 7-2 on the season.
Pittsburgh's offense came to life in the second half after sputtering for the first 30 minutes. Quarterback Russell Wilson threw for 195 yards and three touchdowns including the game winner to Mike Williams just a few days after Williams was traded to the team.
On defense, Pittsburgh had a plan to bend but don't break and keep Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels in check. They did just that, limiting Daniels to 202 yards passing and only five yards on the ground.
Now the Steelers sit at 7-2 and on top in the AFC North. Just behind them are the Baltimore Ravens, who the Steelers take on next week in their first division game of the season and the biggest game of the year so far.
