Sources: Pacers trade for Thaddeus Young

The Brooklyn Nets traded forward Thaddeus Young to the Indiana Pacers for the No. 20 overall pick in Thursday’s NBA draft, league sources told The Vertical.

The Pacers will also send the Nets a future protected second-round pick, league sources said.

Young gives the Pacers another veteran starter to surround All-Star Paul George. The Pacers agreed to a deal for Atlanta point guard Jeff Teague on Wednesday, shipping guard George Hill to Utah as part of a three-way deal.

Nets general manager Sean Marks has been eager to gather young assets and draft picks, and could still be aggressive Thursday to get another pick in the first round, league sources said.

Marks inherited a franchise devoid of first-round picks and has been determined to gather picks using the assets available on his roster.

Young, 28, averaged 15.1 points and nine rebounds for the Nets a season ago. He's a versatile forward who can play both frontcourt spots.
