Free agent Evan Turner has reached agreement on a four-year, $70 million deal with the Portland Trail Blazers, his agent, Kevin Bradbury, told The Vertical.

Turner, a versatile swingman who’ll impact the Blazers' perimeter defense, averaged 10.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists and one steal in 81 games for the Boston Celtics last season. Turner became a target of multiple teams, including New Orleans and the New York Knicks.

Portland isn't finished with its high-profile pursuits in free agency. The Blazers made an aggressive offer to free agent Pau Gasol on Friday, league sources said. They're one of several contenders trying to sign the six-time All-Star forward, who played the past two seasons with the Chicago Bulls.

Turner moves into a Blazers lineup fresh off a Western Conference semifinals appearance, joining a team that could break the 50-win threshold next season.

The Blazers have a dynamic backcourt in Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum and benefited from a solid season from small forward Al-Farouq Aminu.

Turner, 27, has played no fewer than 81 games in the past two seasons with Boston after signing with the franchise in 2014.

He was the second overall selection in the 2010 draft out of Ohio State.
