Source: Mychal Kendricks signs one-year deal with Cleveland Browns, worth up to $3.5 million
It didn’t take long for linebacker Mychal Kendricks to find a new home. The 27-year-old Kendricks, released by the Eagles on May 22, has agreed to a one-year contract worth up to $3.5 million with the Cleveland Browns, a source told Yahoo Sports.
Kendricks, who also visited with the Vikings and Raiders, is a versatile player coming off a productive season for the Super Bowl champs. Pro Football Focus rated him as the ninth-best linebacker in the NFL last year. PFF also graded him out as the top pass rusher among 4-3 outside linebackers. Kendricks played in the Eagles’ most-used defensive lineup while starting 16 games, including all three of Philly’s playoff contests.
Kendricks – a former second-round draft choice out of Cal – should be a Day 1 starter within Cleveland’s 4-3 defensive scheme.
