When it comes to recruiting, the summer doldrums apparently do not exist at Texas.

The first day of July featured UT receiving three commitments from prospects in the 2024 recruiting cycle. Receiver Parker Livingstone, defensive lineman Alex January and safety Jordon Johnson-Rubell announced Saturday that they'll join the Longhorns once they are done with high school.

According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Johnson-Rubell and Livingstone are both viewed as four-star prospects. January has been evaluated as a three-star talent. Texas now has 11 players committed to its Class of 2024. Nine of those pledges have been made since June 17.

"Someone order a 3-piece (meal) and a biscuit?" Texas coach Steve Sarkisian asked in a tweet after Johnson-Rubell made the Longhorns' third commitment of the day.

The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Livingston joins Smithson Valley's Freddie Dubose as the receivers in the Class of 2024 at Texas. According to The Dallas Morning News, Livingston averaged 17.5 yards over his 52 catches during the 2022 season. He caught 12 touchdown passes.

In a commitment video that featured several photos of Livingston as a young child wearing UT apparel, the receiver stated that "I was born in Texas, raised in Texas and I'm damn proud to be a Texan. It's time to get to work. It's time to win championships for the great state of Texas and for the University of Texas."

January, who is 6-4 and weighs 325 pounds, has Texas ties in his family. His father, Mike, was a linebacker for the Longhorns from 1983 to 1986.

January earned all-district honors last season for a Duncanville team that went 15-0 and allowed 10.4 points per game. In the Class 6A Division I state championship game, January contributed 3½ tackles as Duncanville beat Galena Park North Shore and secured its first state title since 1998.

Johnson-Rubell is among the highest-rated recruits in the Class of 2024 at Texas. He trails only running back Jerrick Gibson in the 247Sports composite rankings. Johnson-Rubell and Gibson are teammates at IMG Academy in Florida.

Johnson-Rubell was named a Junior All-American by MaxPreps last season. That publication also tabbed him as a Freshman All-American when he was playing at Fort Worth Brewer in 2020.
