UNC football went on the road for a rare true road game to open up the season and went to a power conference opponent in the Big Ten's Minnesota. The game was nothing short of a nailbiter keeping everyone on their toes to the final seconds.

UNC's Max Johnson threw an interception while Minnesota's Max Brosmer gave up a costly fumble. Teams capitalized on turnovers with Minnesota scoring two touchdowns and UNC seeing Max Johnson score his first touchdown as a Tar Heel before exiting the game with a lower leg injury following a sack.

The game came down to kickers though. Noah Burnette hit all four field goals he attempted which proved to be the game-winning mentality, while the Gophers' kicker missed a cheap shot early and missed the attempted game-winning 47-yard field goal with four seconds left to give the game to UNC 19-17.

Here's how social media reacted to the game.
