This game went just about how everyone predicted it would. It was a knockdown, drag-out defensive battle between two determined teams with something to prove. It was Notre Dame's night as they pulled away late to defeat Texas A&M 23-13.

One of the game's surprises was how well the Notre Dame offensive line held up against an extremely talented A&M front seven. A big key to that was Notre Dame's smart game plan: getting rid of the ball quickly and using different run looks. The Aggies' defense looked the part most of the game, holding the Fighting Irish to under 20 points for most of the contest.

However, Conner Weigman and the wide receivers never got on the same page the whole game. Weigman who is known for taking care of the ball had his worst game of this college career. He threw two interceptions and only averaged 3.3 yards a pass.

Overall, playing a top 10 team this early in the season shows the Aggies where they need to get to if they want to be in the running for a college football playoff spot. Below you can check out the social media reactions to the Texas A&M loss to Notre Dame.

Being a Texas A&M Football fan is tough at times

Conner had a rough night in the office

There is still a long way to go but the problems are glaring

This will be the only question for the next week
