Sixers' Joel Embiid helps Team USA rally in big comeback win over Serbia
Team USA was in trouble. The Americans found themselves trailing Serbia by double digits in the fourth quarter and it appeared that Serbia would pull off a shocking upset over Team USA.
The Americans then kicked it into high gear and outscored Serbia 32-15 in the fourth quarter to earn a 95-91 win and advance to the gold medal game on Saturday against host country France. Steph Curry led Team USA with 36 points and eight rebounds while Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid had 19 points and LeBron James had 16 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists.
Embiid's efforts in the fourth quarter were phenomenal and Team USA doesn't win this game without the big fella's efforts against Serbia star Nikola Jokic. His defensive effort and ability to take him out of the paint with his mid-range shooting was impressive in this one.
