The AHSAA 2024 track and field state championships wrapped up last weekend. Several individuals from the Tuscaloosa area brought home state titles and one team — the Northridge boys — brought home the first outdoor championship in program history.
It marks the Jaguars' second state title of the year after winning the indoor championships in February. They finished with 62.5 points, five points above the second-place team UMS-Wright (57.75).
Northridge's William Numnum brought home an individual state title in the boys pole vault (15-00.00) while Khiyon Lewis won an individual state title in the boys triple jump (46-10.75). Demopolis' Dyllon Williams brought home an individual title in the boys Class 5A 110-meter hurdles (15.21).
On the girls side, the Paul W. Bryant 4x100 relay team, made up of Harmonee King, Xariyah Hatchett, Ja’Kaelyn King and Jaliyah Coleman, brought home the Class 6A individual state title in the event with a time of 48.12, after claiming the indoor title in the same event in February.
