Seahawks waive S Ty Okada
It was a short lived stint on the active 53-man roster for safety Ty Okada. On Thursday, the Seattle Seahawks waived the former Montana State Bobcat one week after signing him off the practice squad. Okada was moved to the active roster following the Seahawks placing safety Rayshawn Jenkins on injured reserve.
Okada being waived opens up a roster spot on the 53-man team, which could very well be filled by right tackle George Fant.
Fant, coming off the injured reserve list himself, returned to practice on Wednesday. If Fant is ready to play, he could see return to action as early as Sunday against the Buffalo Bills.
The Seahawks are three-point underdogs at home. Should Fant be able to take the field on Sunday, it will be a much-needed boost to Seattle's struggling offensive line. The Seahawks are going to require all the help they can get if they want to defend home turf against one of the best teams in football.
