Sammy Brown ejected for targeting in Clemson football game vs Pitt

PITTSBURGH — Clemson football freshman linebacker Sammy Brown was ejected for targeting in the second quarter of Saturday's game against Pitt.

It occurred on third-and-17 when Brown hit Panthers quarterback Nate Yarnell in the head after he threw the ball. Officials called roughing the penalty and targeting, later confirming the ruling after a review. Brown will miss the remainder of Saturday's game but can play in Clemson's next game against The Citadel next Saturday.
