Is Rutgers football in the Top 25 rankings? Polls are revealed after Week 5
Rutgers football's 21-18 victory over Washington Friday night wasn't enough to earn a spot in the rankings this week, but it's getting closer.
The Scarlet Knights received 35 votes in the updated US LBM Coaches Poll after Week 5, putting them 29th.
They received seven in the new AP Top 25, putting them 34th.
Rutgers is 4-0 for the first time since 2012, which is also the last time the Scarlet Knights were ranked.
Their next game is Saturday at Nebraska (4 p.m., ET, FS1). If Rutgers can beat the Cornhuskers, who beat Purdue Saturday 28-10, there's a good chance it'll find itself with a spot in the rankings.
Nebraska received 12 votes in the Coaches Poll and 30 in the AP Top 25.
