Rome Odunze week-to-week after spraining MCL
CHICAGO – Chicago Bears rookie wide receiver Rome Odunze sprained his left MCL during Sunday’s 24-17 win over the Tennessee Titans and is considered week-to-week, according to multiple reports.
Odunze, the No. 9 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, appeared to have sustained the injury while blocking for a screen pass to Velus Jones Jr. late in the fourth quarter.
Odunze stayed in the game for one more play before leaving.
In his NFL debut, the first-year receiver from Washington played 77% of the Bears’ offensive snaps and was targeted four times, catching one pass for 11 yards. He spoke to reporters in the Bears locker room after the game and made no indication he was injured.
Now, rookie quarterback Caleb Williams may be without one of his weapons as the Bears head to Houston to take on the Texans in a tough Week 2 matchup.
