Stephen Curry's birthday party had everything: Ribs, karaoke, E-40, China Klay
Stephen Curry turns 30 on Wednesday. But the Golden State Warriors have a game on Wednesday night against the Los Angeles Lakers, and while Curry himself might not suit up due to his latest bout with ankle woes, the presence of the game kind of knocked out the idea of having soda, pizza and cake with his buddies at a reasonable hour on the day itself. Instead, with the Dubs idle Monday and Tuesday, the two-time NBA Most Valuable Player’s family and teammates decided to throw him a surprise party on Monday night … and it looks like they all had a whale of a time!

Curry arrived at what TMZ described an “oceanside shindig” by pulling up on a yacht, which sure beats taking a cab:

Once there, he feasted on ribs while being serenaded by Bay Area legend E-40, which seems fun:

But Charlie Hustle a.k.a. Forty Fonzarelli a.k.a. The Ballatician a.k.a. E-Feasible Belafonte Bellagiano Bellwether wasn’t the only artist in the building for Steph’s big night. (To be clear: that’s all one dude. E-40’s pretty great at nicknames.) Party planner Ayesha Curry also reached out to the band Paramore to play a set:

Curry also got to rock the mic for some karaoke — or, at least, lip sync karaoke — with his teammates, performing “Give It To Me” by Rick James (we’re sure Kevin Durant was psyched) and “Cool It Now” by New Edition:

And, evidently, this wasn’t just a players’ only affair. Head coach Steve Kerr and lead assistant Mike Brown also got up and proceeded to step to Migos’ “Walk It Like I Talk It,” which is something I kind of always assumed I’d get to see Steve Kerr and Mike Brown do someday, to be honest:

As impressive as the coaches’ moves were, though, I think we can all agree that no Warrior can touch the style, panache and flow of noted dance aficionado Klay Thompson, who was in rare form throughout the evening and who got amped up by the sounds of Next’s “Too Close”:

And, if we’re being honest, maybe a little too amped up:

(Hard to blame him. Sometimes the spirit moves you in ways for which you weren’t prepared. Happens to the best of us.)
There were, of course, props for photos, which allowed Steph to rock something fresh out of the Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons collection:

All in all, it seems like all involved had a lovely time. Just how lovely?
Warriors just announced they canceled practice today. Everyone in recovery mode after Curry's 30th.

Fair enough. Rest up, gang. These days, going 48 with the young Lakers isn’t as easy as two-stepping your way through a 40-Watter set with a plate of ribs.
