Revealed – Inter Milan Future Plans For Venezia Loanee Striker
Inter Milan have left the back door open for the return of highly-rated Venezia forward Gaetano Oristanio after a summer sale.
According to Cronache di Spogliatoio, as reported by FCInterNews, the reigning Serie A champions have inserted two significant clauses in their summer agreement with Venezia.
Indeed, Inter sold Oristanio to Eusebio Di Francesco’s side for a reported fee of €5 million.
Stiff competition for places at Giuseppe Meazza forced the 22-year-old’s exit in July.
Simone Inzaghi has four top-class forwards at his disposal.
With Lautaro Martinez, Marcus Thuram, Mehdi Taremi, and Marko Arnautovic competing for two spots, Oristanio had to go.
That has proved a blessing in disguise for the young gun.
Following a decent loan stint at Cagliari last term, he has thrived at Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo this season.
Despite scoring just once in 11 league matches, his overall performances have been outstanding.
Inter Milan Leave The Back Door Open For Gateano Oristanio Return To Giuseppe Meazza
Oristanio has amassed ten starts in the opening 11 Serie A rounds.
Indeed, he has established himself as a focal point of Di Francesco’s attack.
Despite fluffing his lines in a 1-0 defeat against Inter, he was arguably Venezia’s liveliest performer.
While he wasn’t clinical in that 41st minute, allowing Yann Sommer to thwart his close-range attempt, he was a thorn in Inter’s side.
Too hot to handle in one-on-one duels, Oristanio has quickly won over the Venezia faithful.
However, there’s a catch.
Venezia must secure their top-flight status to prevent Inter from recapturing their standout forward.
There’s a fixed repurchase option. It would come into force if the Lariani suffered relegation to Serie B.
But if Inter decide against bringing Oristanio back to Meazza, they’d still have a resale percentage.
As for the youngster, he is generating substantial interest.
He boasts the best success ratio in one-on-ones in Serie A.
