Report: Liam McNeeley, IU's only 2024 recruit, decommits, asks for letter of intent release

On Wednesday, Mike Woodson's return to coach Indiana in 2024-25 was confirmed to IndyStar.

On Thursday, Woodson and the Hoosiers lost the only recruit they had signed for the 2024 recruiting class as 5-star wing Liam McNeeley requested a release from his letter of intent, per Joe Tipton.

Osterman: Mike Woodson has critics, and some complaints have merit.

McNeeley committed to IU out of Montverde Academy, the same Florida prep school that provided the Hoosiers Jalen Hood-Schifino and Malik Reneau. A McDonald's All American, McNeeley was ranked the No. 15 player in the nation, per 247Sports.

With his decommitment, the Hoosiers have zero commits for the 2024 class, putting added pressure on Woodson and staff to work the transfer portal this offseason.
