Report: Giants request interview with Bills’ Bobby Babich for defensive coordinator job

The Buffalo Bills to New York Giants pipeline could continue.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Giants have requested to interview Bills linebackers coach Bobby Babich for their vacant defensive coordinator job.

In early January, New York and former DC Wink Martindale had mutually parted ways per Giants Wire.

New York has been led by Brian Daboll as their head coach since 2022. Babich, 40, has worked on Sean McDermott’s coaching staff as a defensive assistant. Babich came to Buffalo with his father, Bob, in 2017. The elder Babich coached linebackers for five seasons in Buffalo. He retired after the 2021 season.

Prior to heading to New York, Daboll was Buffalo’s offensive coordinator from 2018 to 2022. He would have worked with Babich during that time.

In the time since Daboll took over coaching duties with the Giants, numerous front office members, coaches and players that met Daboll in Buffalo have made their way down to New York.

Bills Wire will provide updates as information is made available.
