Crew owner Jimmy Haslam is closing in on buying a share of the Milwaukee Bucks.

According to The Athletic, Bucks co-owner Marc Lasry has an agreement to sell his stake in the Bucks to Haslam and his Haslam Sports Group. According to the report, the cost would be for a $3.5 billion valuation.

Haslam's interest in buying a stake in the Bucks first emerged on Feb. 10. Lasry, from whom he will be buying, purchased the Bucks along with Wesley Edens in 2014 for $550 million.

This won't be Haslam' first foray into ownership in a sports league other than the MLS. Along with the Crew, the Haslam Sports Group also owns the NFL's Cleveland Browns.

Haslam's brother, Bill, has also been in the process of purchasing the NHL's Nashville Predators. The Haslams are natives of Tennessee, with Bill having served as governor of the state from 2011-19.

Jimmy Haslam became interested in purchasing a share of the Bucks after Mat Ishbia, chief executive of United Wholesale Mortgage, completed his purchase of the Phoenix Suns and the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury for $4 billion.
