Acting Mets GM Zack Scott arrested on DUI charge after reported party at owner Steve Cohen's house
Acting New York Mets general manager Zack Scott was arrested early Tuesday on a charge of driving under the influence, the New York Post reports.
The Mets later confirmed Scott's arrest.
Captain James Spencer, of the White Plains police, told the Post that an officer found Scott sleeping in his car near the city's federal courthouse at 4:17 a.m. on Tuesday. Per Spencer, Scott refused breathalyzer and blood tests and failed a field sobriety test.
The Mets released a statement Wednesday afternoon that they are "surprised and deeply disappointed" upon learning of Scott's arrest. He won't travel with the team for its upcoming road trip that starts against the Washington Nationals on Friday.
"We were surprised and deeply disappointed to learn this morning about an alleged DUI involving Zack Scott," the statement reads. "We take this matter very seriously. Zack will not be traveling with the team for our upcoming road trip while we learn more and determine next steps."
The Mets put Scott on administrative leave Thursday, according to ESPN's Jeff Passan.

Report: Scott was at Steve Cohen's house on night of his arrest

Reports indicate the party ended by 9 p.m. Monday night.
Scott was promoted after Jared Porter dismissal
The Mets hired Scott in December as senior vice president and assistant general manager. The 43-year-old executive previously spent 17 years in the Boston Red Sox front office.
The Mets promoted Scott to acting general manager in January after firing then-general manager Jared Porter. Porter lost his job amid allegations that he sexually harassed a reporter by repeatedly sending her unwanted explicit texts while he previously worked in the Chicago Cubs front office.
Cohen himself was accused in a January discrimination complaint of abusive, sexist behavior while managing his Point72 Asset Management hedge fund.
It's been a tumultuous season on the field for the Mets as well. The team has recently seen a precipitous fall from first place in the NL East devolve in to a spat between players and fans.
