Reds prospect Elly De La Cruz hits 491-foot home run for Chattanooga

Reds prospect Elly De La Cruz hit a two-run home run over the batter's eye on a 3-0 count during the 3rd inning of the Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts' game Thursday against the Rocket City Trash Pandas at Toyota Field near Huntsville that was estimated to have traveled 491 feet.

De La Cruz improved his batting average to .319 with his second hit of the game and sixth home run in 22 games for the Lookouts. He hit 20 home runs earlier this season for the High-A Dayton Dragons before he was promoted.

De La Cruz is ranked 15th - No. 1 among Reds' minor-leaguers - in MLB Pipeline's Top 100 prospects per an update earlier this week.
