Chicho Arango, Justen Glad named MLS All-Stars
SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — For the first time in nearly 10 years, Real Salt Lake will have two players represent the club among the best in the league in the MLS All-Star game on July 24.
Star striker Chicho Arango and homegrown defender Justen Glad were each named on the 30-man roster to take on the best from Mexico’s LIGA MX. The two were named to the All-Star squad after being voted in by the combined vote of fans, media, and MLS players.
Arango and Glad will join other league All-Stars including Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets from Inter Miami. Longtime French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, U.S. Men’s National Team defender Miles Robinson, and former Real Salt Lake man Aaron Herrera were also named to the team.
This is the first time for both Arango and Glad to be named to the MLS All-Star team and the first time an RSL player has featured among the best of the best since Damir Kreilach in 2021. According to the club, this is also the first time multiple RSL players have been on the All-Star team since 2015 when both Nick Rimando and Tony Beltran were selected.

Arango, 29, currently leads the league in goals scored with 16 goals scored through the 2024 season. The fan-favorite striker joined Real Salt Lake in the summer of 2023 and has since lifted the team to new heights. So far in 2024, Arango has net two hat tricks – three goals scored in one game – and has had five multi-goal games.
Glad, 27, is the longest-tenured player on the current RSL squad, according to the club. In 2024, the stalwart defender has helped keep Real Salt Lake near the top of the Western Conference Table as one of the most defensively sound teams in the league. The club has only allowed 23 goals so far this season, among the lowest the league.
