Rams sign Jalen Ramsey to extension, reportedly making him highest-paid CB at $105M
The Los Angeles Rams are making Jalen Ramsey the highest-paid cornerback in league history with a five-year, $105 million contract extension. The team announced the deal and ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the contract numbers on Wednesday.

Ramsey is the first defensive back to sign a deal worth at least $100 million, per Schefter. It will reportedly pay him $71.2 million at signing, the largest guarantee for a defensive back in NFL history.
Rams sign Ramsey through 2025
The deal will keep the 25-year-old Ramsey in town through the 2025 season. It averages $21 million per year.
The Rams acquired the fifth-year cornerback in a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars last October. Jacksonville, which picked Ramsey fifth overall in the 2016 NFL draft, got back first-round draft picks in 2020 and 2021 and also a fourth-round selection in 2021. Ramsey had requested a trade following a Week 2 sideline argument with head coach Doug Marrone.
He had 33 total tackles, one interception and four pass breakups in nine games with the Rams last season. It led to his third consecutive Pro Bowl selection and a third career spot on the NFL’s Top 100 players list.
In his career he has 243 total tackles (213 solo), 10 interceptions, one touchdown and 49 breakups.
