Raiders DE Maxx Crosby on Detroit Lions trade rumors: 'I want to be Silver and Black'

Maxx Crosby to the Detroit Lions? Not if he has anything to say about it, apparently.

Crosby, the Las Vegas Raiders defensive end, said on his podcast "The Rush With Maxx Crosby" that he hopes to stay with the Raiders through next month's trade deadline despite a swell of fan support for the Lions to acquire him as a replacement for Aidan Hutchinson.

"It’s like they’ve started a whole, like, pandemonium, a whole movement, like a revolution, and it’s like, I'm sitting here innocently and just doing what I do and I feel like I got to like address it with my teammates," Crosby said. "I’m like, I’m not trying to leave. I know it’s a (expletive) business, I don’t have 100% control and all that, but I want to be here, I want to be Silver and Black. I’ll say it loud and (expletive) clear, I want to be a Raider. I’ve said that over and over and over again."

The Lions are in the market for help at defensive end after losing Hutchinson to a broken leg in their Week 6 win over the Dallas Cowboys.

NO HURRY: Lions in no rush to trade for DE as they evaluate internal options

Crosby is a two-time second-team All-Pro and one of the best pass rushers in football. He was born in Michigan and played at Eastern Michigan, and stoked the hopes of Lions fans over the weekend when he shared an Instagram post that tagged him and said "it's time to come home and win a" ring.

Crosby said on his podcast he first heard from Lions fans wanting him to play in Detroit last season, and that talk has only amplified in recent weeks.

"It’s been (bleeping) insane," he said. "Like I can’t even open my phone. Every 2 seconds it’s Lions, fans, Lions fans, Lions fans, Falcons fans, Bears fans, it’s me and they edit a different jersey and I'm like, 'What the (expletive) has this turned into?' And then I make one comment in the press conference last week and then that’s when it went even crazier."

Crosby told Las Vegas reporters last week, "I’m not here to rebuild. ... I’m here to win now, and wherever I’m going to be, I’m, you know, I’m going be here to win, so that’s all that matters to me."

On his podcast, Crosby insisted he was only trying to convey that he wanted to win with his comments.

LIONS MAILBAG: Hope for Maxx Crosby? How does suspension impact Jameson Williams' future?

Lions coach Dan Campbell has said the team is likely to add a "complementary" player to its defensive line at some point before the league's Nov. 5 trade deadline.

The Lions have the cap space to take on a top pass rusher like Crosby, but keeping that player long-term could prove difficult given the financial commitments they've made to players this year and other players they hope to re-sign in the future.

"There’s a bunch of (expletive) noise," Crosby said. "I even have family members, I have close friends, everybody, every DM blowing my (expletive) up, 'Come to Detroit,' the craziest shit ever. And it’s turned into, like, a revolution and I’m just here in Vegas doing what I do and (expletive) dominating and getting after it and trying to win some football games so that’s all I can do."
