Rachael Ostovich back on UFC card after being hospitalized in domestic violence attack
UFC flyweight Rachael Ostovich is back on Jan. 19’s UFC Fight Night card after being hospitalized from a domestic violence attack, ESPN reports.
Ostovich suffered broken bone in face
Ostovich’s manager, Brian Butler-Au confirmed with ESPN last week that she suffered a broken orbital bone in an attack after TMZ reported that she was the victim of a domestic violence incident in Honolulu.
The Honolulu police department confirmed with TMZ on Nov. 18 that a domestic violence incident had been opened. Her husband Arnold Berdon, a professional MMA fighter, was later arrested as a suspect in the attack.
At the time, Ostovich’s management said the fight was off.
Ostovich reportedly sought second opinion
Butler-Au told ESPN that Ostovich never intended to pull out of the fight and made the decision to continue after seeking a second medical opinion on her injuries.
“Now that things are settling out and the swelling of the injury is going down, Rachael got a second opinion and everything will work out to where she can keep this fight,” Butler-Au said.
UFC president Dana White also confirmed the fight with ESPN.
Ostovich responded on Twitter Tuesday shortly after the news broke.
Gods plan 🙏🏼💪🏻

Her fight with VanZant will take place at Brooklyn’s Barclay’s center and air on ESPN+.
