The New Orleans Saints have entered an uncomfortable reality. It's time to shift gears and root for them to improve their position in the 2025 NFL draft order, which means paying a little more attention to other games around the league and keeping track of the standings.

Of course we'd rather be doing that with an eye on the playoffs, but that's just not where a 2-7 team is going to be. Maybe things change with Darren Rizzi taking over for Dennis Allen at head coach. We'll never pull for a Saints loss to the Atlanta Falcons (who are visiting on Sunday), but here's a look at the rest of the Week 10 NFL schedule and which victors would most help the Saints:

New England Patriots (2-7) at Chicago Bears (4-4)

Root for the Patriots to get a win and exit their tie with the Saints on top of the projected draft order.

Buffalo Bills (7-2) at Indianapolis Colts (4-5)

A Colts win would keep them out of the top-10 draft picks. The fewer teams are picking high and muddying the Saints' projections, the better.

Minnesota Vikings (6-2) at Jacksonville Jaguars (2-7)

The Jaguars won't have Trevor Lawrence while he considers season-ending shoulder surgery, but root for them to pull off an upset and get in the win column.

Denver Broncos (5-4) at Kansas City Chiefs (8-0)

The choice is clear here, unless you're not angry with Sean Payton for quitting on the Saints and raiding their cupboard on his way out. Root for Kansas City.

San Francisco 49ers (4-4) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-5)

Pull for San Francisco here. If the Saints do go on a tear after pivoting to Darren Rizzi, their easiest path to the playoffs runs through the NFC South. A vulnerable Bucs squad could help them.

Pittsburgh Steelers (6-3) at Washington Commanders (7-2)

The Commanders are sending multiple draft picks to the Saints, so root for Pittsburgh unless you're all-in on Jayden Daniels and Marshon Lattimore's success with Washington.

Tennessee Titans (2-6) at Los Angeles Chargers (5-3)

The Titans could be picking ahead of the Saints with a loss, so root for them to get back in the win column with Will Levis returning from injury.

New York Jets (3-6) at Arizona Cardinals (5-4)

The Jets could mess up the Saints' draft position if they keep losing.

Philadelphia Eagles (6-2) at Dallas Cowboys (3-5)

Another couple of Cowboys losses could add them to the mix with the Saints at the top of the draft order. Root for an upset with the Eagles crusing into this rivalry game.

Detroit Lions (7-1) at Houston Texans (6-3)

This won't have much bearing on the Saints either way, so go with your gut.

Miami Dolphins (2-6) at Los Angeles Rams (4-4)

Monday night's game pits an injured Dolphins team against a Rams squad which has earned some tough losses and is finally getting healthy. Miami doesn't have a great shot but a Dolphins win would help the Saints' draft position.
