When running back Keilan Robinson was selected in the NFL draft on Saturday, a record was set at Texas.
Robinson was selected by Jacksonville in the draft's fifth round with the 167th overall pick. Robinson is the fourth Texas running back to be drafted in the last two drafts. On Friday, UT running back Jonathon Brooks was drafted by Carolina in the second round.
Robinson was the eighth Longhorn selected in the 2024 NFL draft. That set a school record for the seven-round era of the NFL draft, which began in 1994. Seven Longhorns were drafted in 2007.

NFL.com ranked Robinson as the No. 16 running back in this draft class.
Robinson strengths, weaknesses at Texas
On its list of pros and cons for Robinson, NFL.com wrote that the 5-foot-8, 191-pound Robinson is a smooth runner who is also "surprisingly sturdy." If Robinson's future in on special teams, NFL.com assessed that he is a "talented kick returner who is also adept as a gunner." Robinson was timed at 4.42 seconds in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine.
Robinson's size and lack of offensive production concerned NFL.com.
In a statement released by Texas, Sarkisian said that "Jacksonville got a big-time playmaker at running back and on special teams in Keilan Robinson. He’ll be an absolute do-it-all-threat for the Jaguars."
