Get to the Points: Could Trayce Jackson-Davis be a fantasy basketball playoff surprise?

Yahoo Fantasy basketball analyst Dan Titus and contributor Justin Henry play a round of “Start, Stash, Cut” for several popular waiver additions ahead of the fantasy playoffs.

JUSTIN HENRY: I'm going to give you a start, stash, cut now. Bruce Brown, Amen Thompson, Trayce Jackson-Davis, start, stash, cut, who you got?

DAN TITUS: I think I'm going to start Trayce Jackson-Davis. And then I'm going to stash Amen Thompson. And I'm going to cut Bruce Brown.

JUSTIN HENRY: Oh, so you're going to cut Bruce Brown. See, here's where I'm at. Amen Thompson's getting the start for me. Bruce Brown, I'm going to bench him. I'm actually going to cut Trayce Jackson-Davis. It's interesting that we--

DAN TITUS: What?

JUSTIN HENRY: --we were all-- we were different on those, my man. Talk to me. Why do you like-- you said you had Trayce Jackson-Davis as your favorite?

DAN TITUS: I got Trayce starting. I got Trayce starting.

JUSTIN HENRY: Starting for you?

DAN TITUS: Yeah, I got him starting. Yeah. So look at it. If you look at the numbers, Kevon Looney is not in the rotation anymore. He's gotten zero burgers the last three games.

This is a player that's emerging for a team. The Golden State Warriors are probably destined for a play in spot. Like we know what it is. But I think it's the meaningful minutes that this rookie is getting right now.

I know you saw that left-handed yam on Victor Wembanyama. I mean, that was the coming-out party. This man has been the consistent two-way player for the last five or six games for this Warriors team. I think he's going to continue to play 20 plus minutes. And that's all he's going to need to provide stocks and offense and rebounding.

I like this guy the rest of the way. And I have more confidence in him than I have Bruce Brown and also even Amen Thompson, who had a kind of a dud game in his first game without Cam Whitmore and Alperen Sengun in there.

JUSTIN HENRY: Yeah, I think that dunk on Wemby got Trayce Jackson-Davis hitting it, helped his rostership climb and skyrocket. But for me, Amen Thompson, man, with the new opportunity to start, yes, he had the opportunity and didn't play as well in the start with Cam Whitmore out. Alperen Sengun is currently on the shelf right now.

But this is a guy we've seen when he's gotten minutes, the stocks are there with him. And he can produce elite-level stocks with playing time. So I think especially in category leagues, this is a player that has potential. And given the minutes, given the fact that this Rockets team is embracing some of their youth, I think he's a good player to have.

And the one thing about Bruce Brown, we didn't talk about it. Obviously, coming back from injury. Scottie Barnes is out. He's going to have ample opportunity. But since he's been with Denver, we really ain't seen a whole lot with the Pacers. And we haven't seen a whole lot with the Raptors. I'm not really sure I want this guy. I'm solely going on opportunity versus production this season with Bruce Brown.
