Phillip Wright commits to LSU football: What to know of 2025 college football WR recruit
LSU football added another offensive weapon to its 2025 recruiting class on Friday.
Three-star receiver Phillip Wright III announced his commitment to the Tigers one week after he backed off his pledge to Michigan. According to On3, the athlete from Destrehan High in Destrehan, Louisiana, picked up a recent offer from the LSU track and field team to help convince him to sign with Brian Kelly's squad.

According to 247 Sports Composite rankings, Wright is the No. 430 player in the 2025 recruiting class, the No. 68 wide receiver and the No. 12 player in the state. Wright, listed at 5-foot-11, 175 pounds, also held offers from Georgia and Michigan, among others.
Wright is the third receiver in the recruiting class, joining four-star receivers TaRon Francis and Derek Meadows. LSU holds 21 commitments in the 2025 recruting class, which sits No. 3 in the country, trailing only Ohio State and Alabama on the 247 Sports Composite rankings.
