Philadelphia Eagles NFL schedule tracker 2024: 3 top games set vs Bengals, Cowboys, Ravens

The day is finally here.

That's because the annual release of the NFL schedule has become like New Year's Day, when fans can plan out their road trips to watch the Philadelphia Eagles play.

Perhaps many have already looked into plans for the Eagles' season opener against the Green Bay Packers in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on Sept. 6.

The NFL announced in February that the Eagles will be the host team for that first-ever NFL game in South America. The remaining 16 games for the Eagles will be announced with the rest of the NFL schedule Wednesday at 8 p.m.

The Eagles, like every NFL team, have known all of their opponents ever since last season ended. Tonight, they're finding out the order, other than the opener against the Packers, which was announced last month.

The Eagles, as a playoff contender, should also have at least a few prime-time games. The maximum is six, leaving the Eagles with potentially five more after the Brazil game.

Follow along here as games are leaked ahead of the official 8 p.m. release:

Bengals, Cowboys and Ravens matchups on CBS

The Eagles will face the Bengals in Cincinnati in Week 8, the Cowboys in Dallas in Week 10, and the Ravens in Week 13, according to a source.

All three games will be in the 4:25 p.m. time slot on CBS. The Ravens went 13-4 last season, the Cowboys 12-5 and the Bengals were 9-8, mostly without Joe Burrow.

Eagles face Buccaneers Sept. 29, then have early bye

The Eagles will log thousands of travel miles through their first four games. After the "home" opener in Brazil, the Eagles will have their only September game at the Linc in Week 2 (see below). Then they're back to the skies for Week 3 in New Orleans.

That will be followed by a Week 4 game in Tampa against the Buccaneers, on Sept. 29, according to a Philadelphia Inquirer report. That was the site of the Eagles' 32-9 playoff loss last January to complete a 1-6 collapse. It's the fourth straight game between the two teams in Tampa, dating back to the Jan. 2022 playoff game.

Then the Eagles have a bye for Week 5 before returning the following week, Oct. 13.

Eagles, Saquon Barkley at Giants Oct. 20, home for finale

No doubt, Eagles running back Saquon Barkley and his former Giants teammates will have Oct. 20 circled on their calendars. That's the date that Barkley, the long-time Giants running back, makes his return to MetLife Stadium as a member of the Eagles.

That's according to a report from northjersey.com 's Art Stapleton, who's also reporting that the two teams will also meet in Philly for the regular-season finale on Jan. 5. It will mark the third straight year that the two teams have closed out the regular season.

Eagles to host Steelers on Dec. 15

We know a late-season game as the Eagles are hosting their cross-state rivals, the Pittsburgh Steelers, on Dec. 15. The two teams last met on Oct. 30, 2022 at the Linc. The Eagles won that 35-13. Before that, the two teams played in 2020, and the Steelers won 38-29 in Pittsburgh.

Eagles not playing on Thanksgiving, Black Friday or Christmas Day

The NFL announced that it will have two games scheduled for Christmas Day, which falls on a Wednesday, this year. Those will be the first-ever games scheduled on a Wednesday. The teams playing that day will also play the previous Saturday. That allows for the same amount of rest as teams playing on a Thursday night following a Sunday game.

As it turns out, those Christmas Day games won't involve the Eagles, who played on the holiday last year. The 33rd Team posted on X that the two Christmas Day games will be the Ravens at Texans and Chiefs at Steelers.

It also appears as if the Eagles won't play on Thanksgiving, held on Nov. 28 this year, either. They would be eligible with a road game at Dallas, but the New York Post is reporting that the Giants are playing that game. The Eagles don't play the Lions, the other annual Thanksgiving game host.

The Eagles haven't played on Thanksgiving Day since 2015 against Detroit. The year before, they played at Dallas on Turkey Day.

It's being reported that the Thanksgiving primetime game is the Dolphins at the Packers. The second annual Black Friday game, held on Nov. 29, will consist of the Raiders at Chiefs.

Eagles play Monday night ESPN game Week 2 at home, at Saints for Week 3

After opening the season in Brazil, the Eagles will play their first Lincoln Financial Field home game 10 days later, on Sept. 16 against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football on ESPN, according to a report from Anthony Gargano of AllPHLY. The game in Brazil is an Eagles home game.

It's fitting because Eagles legend Jason Kelce signed with ESPN to be an analyst for the pregame Monday night games. The show is called Monday Night Countdown and it airs from 6-8 p.m. The Falcons have Kirk Cousins at QB and they also picked Michael Penix No. 8 overall in the draft.

The Philadelphia Inquirer is reporting that the Eagles will play their first actual road game of the season the following Sunday, Sept. 22, at the New Orleans Saints.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith (6) and wide receiver A.J. Brown (11) against the New York Giants at Lincoln Financial Field on Dec. 25, 2023.

Eagles-Packers Brazil game

The NFL announced Wednesday morning the league's 2024 slate of international games and times. This included the Eagles-Packers game in Brazil, which will be played at 8:15 ET and be broadcast on Peacock.

Who do the Eagles play at home in 2024?

The Eagles will play their usual three NFC East rivals — the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders. The divisional rotations have them playing against the NFC South and AFC North. From the NFC South, the Eagles will get home games against the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons. The AFC North teams coming to the Linc will be the cross-state foe Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns.

The Eagles also have home games against last season's second-place finishers from the AFC South, the Jacksonville Jaguars, and NFC North, the Green Bay Packers. The game against the Packers is an Eagles home game in Brazil.

Who do the Eagles play on the road in 2024?

The Eagles make their usual road trips to divisional rivals Giants, Cowboys and Commanders. The NFC South road opponents are a playoff rematch against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who eliminated the Birds 32-9 in the wild-card round in January, and the New Orleans Saints. The AFC North road trips will take them to Baltimore to face Lamar Jackson and the Ravens, and to Cincinnati to face Joe Burrow and the Bengals.

The Eagles have a road game against the second-place finisher from the NFC West, the Los Angeles Rams. It's the second straight season the Eagles are facing the Rams on the road.

What are the NFL's rules on flex scheduling?

Last year was the first year in which Sunday games could be flexed to Monday night. The Eagles fell victim to this when their Dec. 17 game in Seattle was flexed to Monday night, Dec. 18. That created a travel nightmare for fans who had already purchased plane tickets and booked hotel rooms.

The NFL needs only 12 days advance notice to make that switch.

The NFL is also allowing games to get flexed to Thursday night. But the NFL is requiring 28 days' notice for this. There were no games flexed to a Thursday last season.

  • Sunday Night Football: Week 5-10, up to twice permitted; Weeks 11-17, at the league's discretion

  • Monday Night Football: Weeks 12-17, at the league's discretion

  • Thursday Night Football: Week 13-17, up to twice permitted

  • Sunday afternoon: Can be shifted between 1 p.m., 4:05 p.m., or 4:25 p.m., as well as can be moved to Sunday night, Monday night, or Thursday night

  • Week 18 games: All games dates/times will be determined at the conclusion of Week 17
